There is a lot of evidence. Researchers at the Tulane University School of Medicine used electron plank tomography (EBT) to measure the progression of plaque buildup surrounded by heart-attack patients taking statin drugs. EBT is a very accurate course to measure occlusion from calcium within the arteries. Contrary to expectations, the researchers discovered that the progression of coronary artery calcium (CAC) was significantly greater surrounded by patients receiving statins compared next to event-free subjects despite similar levels of LDL-lowering. The discontinuation rate for ALL statins is low. Most patients NEVER own problems with them.
Yet another statement in need support.
FYI - I see more patients switching from Lipitor to another statin due to changes surrounded by their health insurance than I see them stopped due to side effects.
Don't assume that everyone who stops taking Lipitor is experiencing side effects.
