Anyone near a kidney transplant be told not to swim contained by lake rivers, anything outside of a chlorinated pool?
Nobody taking the kind of strong steroids used surrounded by any type of transplant should swim in lake or rivers. They could easily stop leptospirosis or another infection and die.
I personally haven't have a transplant of any kind, but I assume you be told so since many lake and rivers are quite polluted, and since you body absorb the toxins...that go to your kidneys to be processed...this would wreak an overflow of stress on you kidneys that are in a helpless state already...fighting the body for implementation, all the anti rejection drugs etc. But thats simply my own thoughts. Listen to your doctors, they want whats best for you.
